UC Scout World Languages are based on the themes of Global Challenges, Beauty and Aesthetics, Families and Communities, Personal and Public Identities, Contemporary Life and Science and Technology. UC Scout World Languages are standards and proficiency based incorporating the 5 C’s of Language Acquisition set forth by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages: Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities. Our German courses can be used to supplement face-to-face courses and are “a-g” approved.
Topics for this course include greetings, the alphabet, numbers, describing one's home, physical characteristics, foods, school, calendars, clothing, free-time activities, social networks, healthcare, and transportation. Students will also learn about major holidays and cultural celebrations, as well as understand and respond to simple commands and questions. This class is taught in German and English.
