AP® Registration

Register for AP® Classroom

AP® Classroom is an online platform where you can access free practice resources. Assessments in AP® Classroom are for practice and review only; they are not graded. AP® Classroom is a valuable resource for preparing for your AP® exam, and enrollment is required before you can take the AP® exam in May.

  1. Register for a new College Board account or log into your existing account at myap.collegeboard.org
  2. Join your UC Scout section in AP® Classroom using the Join Code you will find in your UC Scout AP® course (ask your instructor if you cannot locate it)

Register and Pay for the AP® Exam

Taking the AP® Exam with UC Scout

UC Scout is authorized to host your AP® Exam. You will be able to register for your AP® exam from the UC Scout AP® Classroom (see above). If you choose not to take the exam through our program, you must contact your local AP® exam-providing institution, which in many cases will be your local high school.

If you take the exam with UC Scout, it will be administered in person at 3175 Bowers Ave, Santa Clara CA 95054. Please see additional important information on our AP® Exams webpage.

To be eligible to register for your exam with UC Scout, you must be registered for the corresponding On Demand course.

Submit Payment
  1. Visit the course catalog from within your student account.
  2. Select Sections.
  3. Click Register Me for each section corresponding to each exam you intend to take with UC Scout.
  4. Complete checkout and submit payment.
  5. Within two weeks after submitting payment, our team will manually verify your eligibility and payment submission. Once verified, your AP® Classroom status will be updated to "Registered for exam given by Scout from University of California."
Reduced Fee Option

The College Board is extending a reduced fee option to students who meet certain criteria, including students who:

  • are enrolled in a federal, state, or local program that aids students from low income families (such as a federal TRIO program like Upward Bound)
  • receive public assistance (such as MediCal, SNAP/EBT, or CashAid)
  • live in federally subsidized public housing, a foster home, or are homeless
  • are a ward of the state or an orphan

If you qualify under any of these circumstances, please complete the AP® Exam Reduced Fee Survey.

 

Taking the AP® Exam with Other Institutions

If you would like to take the exam at your high school or another institution, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the AP® Course Ledger to find a high school that's been authorized to offer AP® exams.
  2. Get in touch with the school's AP Exam Coordinator and ask them to create an "Exam Only" section in College Board.
    • If the AP Exam Coordinator is not familiar with creating an Exam Only section, you can refer them to p. 63-64 in the online AP Coordinator's Manual. This will give you the ability to register and pay for the exam.
  3. Continue to follow up with the other institution's AP® Exam Coordinator as needed to make sure you meet registration deadlines and are prepared to take the AP® exam in May.
